Want to Wake Up? Make These Two Mistakes, and You Won’t

Mediation is hard, right? And waking up? Good luck! You’d better go and sit in a cave for a few years if you’re serious.

Actually, no.

In the course of the more than 9 years of research that the Finders Course is based on, we found a handful of very common and deeply held assumptions about meditation, practice, and the fundamental well-being that is the goal of meditation (which we call O.N.E.), that keep people from getting real results from their practice. Here are the two key findings of our research that make the Finders Course hands-down the quickest and most effective way to wake up:

Most Methods Aren’t Very Effective

Google “Learn to Meditate.” (I’ll wait…)

I get over 14 million results when I do that. The first page that comes up contains some good resources for the beginner: mantra meditations, some simple breathwork. But these are not very likely to take you to O.N.E. In fact, we found less than 10 methods which worked to transition more than a tiny percentage of people into ongoing states of peace, joy, and well-being. You probably don’t have to do the math: your odds of stumbling on one of these aren’t very good. And, those that do work reliably max out at between 10 and 20% of practitioners, meaning that even if you’re lucky and do start practicing one of these methods, you’re still overwhelmingly likely to be one of the 4 out of 5 people for whom the method is not going to get you across the finishing line. Which leads to…

You Need to Find the Method that Works for You, Now

There’s really no way to figure this out before you actually try a method out. Our students frequently report how silly they thought a method was… until they practiced it.

Conversely, if you’ve tried meditation – especially if your aim is effecting a significant shift in your consciousness, you’ve probably been told when something doesn’t seem to be working that you are doing something wrong, or simply that you need to try harder. This couldn’t be further from the truth. The methods that do work are powerful, as long as they’re in alignment with you.

Another way of saying this:

When Something Works, You’ll Know It.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SIT IN A CAVE FOR YEARS. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DUTIFULLY SHOW UP DAY AFTER DAY,  YEAR AFTER YEAR. When something works, you will see the effects in your life, after a surprisingly short amount of time. We found that if you practice an hour a day, you will more likely than not be able to tell if something works for you after just one week. If you’re practicing for 20-30 minutes a day, you should still be able to tell after a month of practice whether something works for you or not.

To sum up:

Mistake #1: Not using a method proven to help transition people to O.N.E. in the first place.

Mistake #2: “Trying Harder, Longer.” Continuing with a method that doesn’t work long after you should switch.

Finders Course works because we only teach methods that actually transition a significant number of people. Not every method will work for you, but you’re almost certainly going to find a few that will, giving you a great chance of transitioning to O.N.E. in less than 17 weeks. Not in years… not after a lifetime of dedication…

73% of our students transition to O.N.E. during the course. A further 25% experience temporary states of non-symbolic experience during the course, and many of them transition into O.N.E. soon after the course concludes. No other program can claim this, because they almost certainly are not teaching only the most effective methods, and they are almost certainly not tracking their students with empirical psychological methods of well-being.

There is nothing out there comparable to the Finders Course. Find out for yourself.
